On September 12, 2023, His Excellency, Ambassador Kwacha Chisiza had a luncheon meeting with His Excellency, the Japanese Ambassador to Malawi, Mr Oya in Tokyo, Japan, to discuss the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries, recent diplomatic initiatives, and cooperation in various sectors such as energy, health  and infrastructure development, trade and investment. The meeting was essential for maintaining and enhancing diplomatic relations between Malawi and Japan.
